Montreal, March 8th, 2007 – Audiogram is pleased to announce the debut English CD, No Promises, from multi-platinum French recording artist Carla Bruni will be available in Canada on Tuesday, March 20. Four years after Quelqu’un m’a dit (selling over 2 million units worldwide including 120 000 in Canada), Carla Bruni offers here a collection of music and poetry by William Butler Yeats, Wystan Hugh Auden, Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, Walter de la Mare and Dorothy Parker. Her unique phrasing is easily recognizable on these 11 new songs. Her compositions are enriched and carried by the musical melody of the English language, going beyond the barrier of words and leaving to discover a yet unseen facet of Carla’s talent as composer. Louis Bertignac, already present on Quelqu’un m’a dit, produced this new album. The result is a musical work surpassing all expectations. The compositions, singing, and production reveal, as if it were still necessary, the refined virtuosity of an artist who never ceases to surprise us. The first single from the album, Those Dancing Days are Gone, is now available through DMDS. Carla Bruni will be in Montréal and Toronto in the week of April 2nd for a promotional visit. |
